Narrative Inquiry. oral history, life story, biography, autobiography, and autoethnography: Narrative Inquiry draws upon a variety of approaches, methodologies, theoretical perspectives and disciplinary traditions. Particular emphasis is placed on theoretical approaches to narrative and the analysis of narratives in human interaction. We shall examine definitions, theoretical orientations and methodologies, including oral history, life story, biography, autobiography and autoethnography. Seminar in Teaching Research. First of the two inquiry- and project-oriented courses elementary teacher candidates undertake as the beginning experience in the final, graduate year. The project emanates from the teacher candidates' own action-oriented research.The Teacher-Researcher in Secondary Subjects and K-12. Action-research, teacher-research, qualitative, quantitative, mixed methodology, for students enrolled in the graduate teacher education program, across disciplines (art, English, foreign languages, math, science, and social studies). Studies in the Teaching of Foreign Languages K-12 and Teacher Education. This course is destined to anyone interested in the development of the Foreign Language field throughout these past five years, as evidenced in recent research. Teachers in the field considered what this research can bring to their classrooms, and defined an area in their teaching which they would like to more specifically document and develop (i.e., creative writing, theme teaching, integrating culture, integrating technology, etc.). Graduate students were able to define an area of interest and develop a thorough literature review toward their Master's Thesis or their Doctoral Dissertation. Principles and Current Research Related to the Teaching of Foreign Languages K-12.Compressed Video Course. Destined to anyone interested in the development of the Foreign Language field throughout the past five years, including the new national and regional standards and recent research. Teachers in the field were asked to consider what this research can bring to their classrooms, and defined an area in their teaching they wanted to more specifically document and develop (i.e., creative writing, theme teaching, integrating culture, etc.). Graduate students could define an area of interest and develop a thorough literature review as an exploration for their Master's Thesis or their Doctoral Dissertation. Critical Analysis of Current Research in Foreign/Second Language Education. Destined to anyone interested in the development of the Foreign Language field throughout the past five years. Teachers in the field were asked to consider what this research can bring to their classrooms, and/or whether they wanted to start a teacher-research project of their own. Graduate students defined an area of interest and developed a literature review for their Master’s thesis or their Doctoral dissertation. |
