Research Interests
My research and scholarly interests focus on two closely interrelated areas:

EDUCATIONAL THEORY
Curriculum Theory, Philosophy of Education, Sciences de l'Education, Cultural Studies

LANGUAGES & CULTURES
Foreign/Second/Additional Language Education, Immersion Programs, Intercultural Communication

Other related field:
EDUCATIONAL RESEARCH

Some students' work:
DIRECTED RESEARCH

My work uniquely cuts across disciplines and national borders. It is characterized by my commitment to international scholarship where I contribute to scholarly dialogues through publications, conferences, and close work with specific scholars from Europe, North America, Africa, Asia, Australia, and New Zealand, and collaboration with foreign governments (e.g., France, Belgium and Spain). My research is carried out equally in the US and in Europe where I publish and lecture both in English and in French. On the national level, I am active through publications and conferences, and ongoing collaboration with American scholars. On the local level, I work with Louisiana schools, teachers, state agencies and foreign government local representatives (e.g., Louisiana history, Virtual Museum).
I see these areas as closely interrelated, in constant dialogue, informing and enriching one another. Although in order to present them they have to be pried apart for obvious practical and logistic reasons, the lived process is anything but categorized, linear, or hierarchical.
