Research on French in Louisiana
The teaching of French in Louisiana developed under quite unique historical, cultural and pedagogical conditions. It is essential to be aware of those in order to understand the challenge they present and what is at stake. The difficulties remain numerous, and several factors would be essential for their success, in Louisiana schools in general, but especially in elementary schools and in immersion programs. Invited paper to be published in US-China Education Review, a professional journal sponsored by the American Sino-US Association of Entrepreneurs, and published in the United States by David Publishing Company, Chicago, IL, USA.
