The screen above left shows the lab at one of the remote Louisiana sites.
Bernard mans the screen controls, making sure the right picture is on the right screen at the right time. The screen above Adrienne shows what is displayed at each website. Here Adrienne is placing a document on Elmo. Bernard will switch screen to send the Elmo image to all the sites. On the forefront, the SOAR.

Rebecca and Arnaud are practicing the hands-on activities designed to help students better understand adaptation. Rebecca is explaining the rules of the game. Rebecca set up six stations with different bird “food.” The activity consists in using the best tool (“best adapted beak”) to collect the maximum food. On the right, the main computer and the wall screen on which the computer monitor screen currently displays Rebecca's PowerPoint on birds. On March 9, the first videoconference was braoadcast to all six Louisiana sites. On the TV screen, Richard Martin-Teissère, one of the partcicipants at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette site, had brought his own bird pet.
The LSU Distance Learning Labs videotapes of this videoconference and subsequent ones, and the activities from these videoconferences are available, in English and in French on the LSU Museum of Natural Science website, and in French on the FEP National Resource Center website.
