ORIENTATION MEETING - JANUARY 29, 2007

On Monday, January 29, the fourteen Louisiana educators (two per site, one in French, one in science) and our SELECT partners were invited for an orientation meeting, in the morning at the Museum of Natural Science, and in the afternoon at the LSU Distance Learning Labs for training with Bobby Callender, Coordinator of the E-Learning Technologies Center for Instructional Media Services/CELT. It prepared the fourteen SELECT educators for their role as distance-learning facilitators.
The morning was spent at the LSU Museum of Natural Science where Dr. Sophie Warny, presented the facilitators and guests with an overview of the Museum research and education programs and Dr. Egéa-Kuehne with a description of the BoR SELECT project and videoconferences program. After a general orientation to the SELECT program and the Museum, we offered several round tables.

ROUND TABLES - VIDEOCONFERENCE ACTIVITIES

Foreign language and science facilitators and guests learn about the self-guided field trip book written by  Dr. Sophie Warny and translated, thanks to the FEP, in French by Dr. Stanislas Dubois and Anne-Sophie Dubois...
