Objectives Goals:  For students to understand the stock market and its purpose in their lives for the future. The students should be able to describe the economicimpact of technological advancements and how it relates to the stock markettrading.
Objectives:  The students will be able to identify, gather and organize information andshow the relationship in a timeline.  The students will be able to create a timeline using Inspiration and show a brief PowerPoint slide show taking one decade and explain the history.

Internet, Wall StreetJournal, Inspiration, PowerPoint, Computers, Textbook: A Random Walk DownWall Street 7th Ed. by Malkiel
Background information The teacher will ask what  the students know about the stock market and will discuss the major historicalevents in its history. 
Lesson procedure Day One:  The students will be divided into groups of three.
The students will beginresearch using the Internet and a Web Quest the teacher will create in NetscapeComposer using the sites below.

Day Two:  The students will create a timeline of events from the creation of the stockmarket to the present using Inspiration.
Day Three: The students will select a decade in the timeline to create a PowerPoint presentation 5-10 slides.
Day Four:  Thestudents will continue to create their PowerPoint Presentation as well asimport their timeline as a .jpg into PowerPoint.
Day Five:  The students will present their work to the class.
