What does the manatee sound like? 
The Amazing Rainforest Animals collection of rainforest animal pictures, wingsparks, and resource links is a site developed by EDAF 4507 and EDAF 5880 classes at the College of Education at Louisiana State University during the spring of 1998.

Interesting facts about the manatee 
  • Manatees have no known natural enemies. Their only defense mechanism is to swim away when threatened. 
  • "Sea cows," as they are also known, consume 10 to 15 percent of their body weight in vegetation daily. 
  • The U.S. Marine Mammal Protection Act of 1972 included sea cows and declared a moritorium on hunting them within United States waters.
