American Revolution: Day 10
Ursula Metz and Lindsey Comeaux 6th, 7th & 8th Student Teacher Grade Level 20 class-wide 90 minutes Mrs. King Group Size Estimated Time for Lesson Cooperating Teacher’s Approval Lesson Title: Test on Chapter 6 Benchmarks: American Revolution
Identify the powers of the U.S. federal government and the powers it shares with state governments according to the U.S. Constitution (C-1A-M3) Identify the structure and powers of the three branches of the federal government, the limits of those powers, and key positions within each branch (C-1A-M5) Identify qualifications and terms of office for elected officials at the national level (C-1A-M6) Explain the causes, course, and consequences of the American Revolutionary War (H-1B-M6) Compare and contrast the strategies and motivations of the Patriots, Loyalists, and British during the American Revolution (H-1B-M6) Explain the role of key figures in the American Revolution (H-1B-M6) Explain how the American Revolution affected the politics, society, and economy of the new nation (H-1B-M7)
Lesson Objectives: TSW- Take a written test on the information contained in Chapter 6 of their social studies book. Resources/Materials: Written tests (provided by the teacher), and a pen/pencil Technology Integration: N/A Lesson Procedure and Activities: Introduction- The teacher will explain the procedure the students will follow to take the test. Activities- The teacher will then assign one student to pass out the test. Once all students have the test they can start their examination. They will have the class period to finish the examination. Closure- After the students have completed the test they can go to their desk and sit quietly until all students are finished. Assessment/Evidence of Learning: The students will be assessed on their performance on their examination. They will be graded according to how many correct answers the have. |
