Alert! Florida is being evacuated! According to the television broadcast from the National Hurricane Center, a tropical storm named Erin is heading straight for the Florida coast. As you watch images on T.V. of families boarding up their houses and evacuating the area, your mind begins to race with questions. How do tropical storms and hurricanes form? Who names them? What was the worst hurricane ever?

In this webquest, you will become a hurricane hunter, studying these powerful forces of nature. Your research will help you and your family prepare for a storm such as Erin that may one day hit your area. So grab your umbrella and raincoat, and get ready for some wet and wild weather!
