Welcome to the Louisiana Culture message boards! There are four topic threads. Please use each thread as it is intended to be used—make sure your posts are relevant to the subject. Vulgar language and inappropriate images are forbidden by school policy, and are therefore not permissible even in the “Off Topic” section (though I do not check this section unless I am forced to, I have software set to detect foul language). A chat room is also available. The threads are as follows:
WEDNESDAY PROJECT THREAD—Every Thursday for the first three weeks you will be assigned a project due the following Wednesday, one of which you will further develop into a presentation to be given during our Mardi Gras festivities. Although each week everyone must turn in their own, unique project, you may solicit ideas and help from others. If they help you, please note this when you turn your project in. Helping others with their projects is strictly voluntary, but will boost your participation grade. Use this thread to discuss your projects. MARDI GRAS THREAD—The final three days of this unit (before the test) will focus on Mardi Gras, and we will even have our own Mardi Gras ball. This party requires some major planning, and different groups will be responsible for different aspects of this monumentous event. Consider this the “party planning” thread. LOUISIANA CULTURE QUESTIONS General questions you have on Louisiana for your teacher or your classmates OFF TOPIC Post anything you like here, so long as it follows the rules. The teacher is forbidden from accessing this except during emergencies, so you may even criticize the class.
