Hurricane Katrina

Introduction

On August 29, 2005, Hurricane Katrina struck the gulf coast and devastated parts of Louisiana and Mississippi.

Even though you might not have lived in New Orleans, you  could have been personally affected by the storm.  In fact Baton Rouge took on thousands of extra residents and your school temporarily accepted many extra students.  As a resident of South Louisiana, you could one day be in the direct path of a hurricane.

Because of this, you have been recruited to become a hurricane expert.  You will be part of a very important team working together to plan a hurricane action plan for Louisiana.  In order to do this you and the members of your team will work together to research, formulate, and present a team plan.
