à Compare and contrast crystalloid and colloid fluid replacement.

à Calculate NPO deficit.

à Calculate allowable blood loss.

à Integrate knowledge of cellular physiology, electrolyte balance, acid-base balance, and surgical blood loss potential to formulate an individualized plan of fluid replacement .
